Haven is Hack Club's series of in-person game jams, happening in cities all over. The Toronto edition kicks off on November 14.
You don't need to have made a game before. Show up solo or with friends, team up, build something fun from scratch, and demo it at the end. There'll be prizes for the best games and free food to keep you going.
My role
Point of contact
Hack Club HQ chose me as the POC between them and the Haven Toronto organizing team. Beyond that, I work on a bit of everything it takes to get the event off the ground:
- Venues
- Finding and locking down a space that fits 150+ hackers.
- Sponsorships
- Reaching out to companies to fund prizes, food, and the event itself.
- Logistics
- Planning the day: schedule, supplies, food, and everything in between.
- Marketing
- Getting the word out to high schoolers across the city.
